IPPC 2016: Lagos Readies to Receive the World
The city of Lagos, unarguably Africa’s fastest growing and most populated city is ready to receive the world as partners descend on the city in their thousands for the International Pastors and Partners Conference (IPPC) of the Believers Loveworld. The Conference which takes place every November is the largest, biggest and most important event in the calendar of the BLW nation (Christ Embassy). IPPC Daily reliably gathered that this year, the number of delegates were close to three times what it was last year.
What this means is that more efforts have been put into place in virtually every aspect of the planning and execution for the Conference, from logistics, security, facilities etc. The Conference which is bringing together people from over 180 countries of the world attracts the largest number of foreign visitors to Lagos than any other event both spiritual and secular. Even some aviation officials at the Muritala Mohammed International Airport, the nation’s major international gateway who spoke with IPPC Daily on conditions of anonymity say that while this year’s event seem to have more attendees, their passage has been seamless due in part to the solid arrangement put in place between Christ Embassy and FAAN. This they say is helping a great deal. They commended the Church for being quite organized.
Even hoteliers within the vicinity of Ikeja attest to the fact that their rooms are fully booked for this one week starting from 14th of November to 20th. Taxi drivers, food vendors are all having a field day. Officials of the Lagos State Transport Management Agency (LASTMA) are not left our as they have equally devised a strategy to take traffic away from the Billingsway Road venue of the Conference. The city according to one Traffic Police always braces itself for Christ Embassy events.
