The Wednesday evening session of the Pastor’s Conference saw the President of the Loveworld Nation, Reverend Chris Oyakhilome, D.sc, D.D. ministering with so much passion and commitment for the work of the ministry going on around the world.
He challenged the Pastors about the need to fully understand the work of the kingdom, the essence of ministry, charging them that ministry is not a game.
Emphasing the fact that “ministry is not a game”, he reminded participants that “we are first of all called the saints of God as He gave some apostles, prophets, pastors etc, for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry”. He added that before a minister is called a pastor, an apostle or an evangelist, he or she is first of all called a saint.
He asked some key questions about the essence of our work in ministry like “what is on your mind in your work? How should you think? How do you want to conclude your work? What does God think of your work? Are you working to please Him or the people around you? Is He pleased with your work? What’s on His mind?
These key questions were restated as Pastor Chris expansiated on the reason for his work in ministry, and how he works with the Holy Spirit to achieve these ultimate objectives for the church in this church age. He charged all Ministers in the Conference to do likewise, working with greater commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ.
